Most professionals want the physical and digital spaces they create to be inclusive and accessible, but many don’t know where to start. With limited time and so much to learn, it’s easy to disengage with accessibility. In the absence of organizational guidance on accessibility, what can be done? Enter the Accessibility Champion Network, a grassroots effort that connects professionals at various stages of their accessibility journeys to share and learn together. In this interactive session, the presenter will share the background, process, and outcomes of establishing this type of professional learning community in a large non-profit organization, engaging both remote and on-site employees across six campuses. Participants will be empowered to initiate, facilitate, and participate in similar networks, both inside and outside their own places of employment, including higher education institutions, non-profits, and companies.
