Adam McLean

Senior Instructional Designer, The Jackson Laboratory

Adam McLean, M.Ed., G.C.I.D., is a Senior Instructional Designer at The Jackson Laboratory (JAX). He has 20 years of experience in K-12 and higher education curriculum and instruction, including ten years in eLearning for adult learners. Adam has extensive experience facilitating professional development and has presented at numerous in-person and virtual education conferences at the local, regional, and national levels. In his current role, Adam designs and develops self-paced online learning in genetics and genomics topics for a global audience of approximately 5,000 internal and external learners per year. With advanced skills in Articulate 360 and several coding languages, Adam also acts as an organizational subject matter expert in digital accessibility. In addition, Adam served as the inaugural chair of the JAX-Bar Harbor Inclusion and Engagement Committee and is currently active in the Disability and Chronic Illness employee resource group, leading American Sign Language learning initiatives and the Accessibility Interest Group. In 2024, he was honored with the JAX President's Award for Excellence Through Diversity and Inclusion.
