Talk
In this session, Ericka Tinsley shares her hands-on experience successfully modifying a digital learning course to meet the needs of learners with visual impairments—including both low vision users and those who rely entirely on screen readers. She walks through the practical adjustments made to ensure the course was fully perceivable, navigable, and engaging, from layout and structure to alt text and interaction design.
Beyond traditional course content, Ericka also explores how she created accessible, gamified Google Forms that maintained interactivity and fun without sacrificing usability. She'll explain how she addressed common accessibility barriers in Google Forms—such as labeling, visual feedback, and navigation order—and applied creative design strategies to make the experience rewarding for all learners.
Attendees will leave with real-world examples and actionable strategies for designing inclusive content that works across the spectrum of visual ability.
